At present, the macadamia nuts have become the tools for the local people to make money, and Lincang has become the largest production and processing base of macadamia nuts.

The natrual conditions of Lincang, Yunnan are similar to those of the origin of macadamia nuts and has become one of the most appropriate growing areas for macadamia nuts.

According to www.people.com.cn, as of the end of 2016, the planting area of macadamia nuts in Lincang reached 1.9 million mu, ranking first in the world, with an initial fruiting area of 230,000 mu, an output of 5,719 tons and a production value of 150 million yuan.
