As a modern seed company which focuses on edible sunflower seed industry
and integrating “cultivation, propagation and promotion”, Sanrui Agricultural
Technology always lays emphasis on technological innovation. It has
accumulatively inputted over CNY80 Million R&D fund in the past three
years, and established sunflower systematic technological research institute,
R&D breeding base and seed preparation base. It has developed over 30
edible seed varieties with proprietary intellectual property rights. Its
domestic market share reaches 31%.
However, as consumer demand upgrades, defects
of hybrid variety of edible sunflower seeds appeared gradually. Zhang Yongping
said China has vast edible sunflower seed market. Consumers have higher demands
for quality of sunflower seeds.
“Around 2008, some consumers having higher
requirement for quality seldom ate sunflower seeds because sunflower seeds of
hybrid variety have small size, thick skin and worse taste. From then on, we extensively
collected high quality resources of edible sunflower seeds from home and
abroad, established our R&D team, and engaged in cultivating high-quality
edible sunflower seeds.” Zhang said.
After all endeavors, in 2012, Sanrui
developed hybrid varieties of edible sunflower seeds including SH361 and SH363
with proprietary intellectual property rights, which have not only the taste of
traditional varieties but also advantages of hybrid varieties.
Since foundation of Sanrui, it continuously inputted in technological
R&D, insisted on technological innovation of seeds. So far, we have
acquired 13 patents for invention and 4 patents for design. In 2017, Sanrui
strategically introduced Longping High-tech, and realized supplementary
advantages of industry and platform. It established Academician Workstation
jointly with Academician Yuan Longping, and speeded up R&D of new varieties
including resisting G-grade sunflower, rust-resisting sunflower and ultralong
(over 3.0cm) sunflower. At present, it has developed target experimental
variety which is under test.
