In September, Almonds in Yarkant County,
Xinjiang Province, reached a picking peak, picking about 3,100 tons a day.At
present, Yarkant County has planted 930,000 mu of Almonds trees, and has a
fruit area of 850,000 mu, accounting for more than 95% of the national planting
area, and has become the largest Almonds production base in China. In 2020, its
production increased to 86,000 tons.
It is understood that the planting density of Almonds
in the Yarkant production area is relatively low, and the yield per mu is only
4,500 jin of dried fruit. And these Almonds are not picked until the fruit
cracks naturally on the tree and is fully ripe.If Almonds is simply planted,
the planting income is not ideal. It is understood that in 2016, global Almonds
production was 3.2 million tons, and the United States production accounted for
63%.Most of the domestic planting gather in southern Xinjiang, accounting for
only 0.63% of the world's output. The domestic Almonds market is in short
supply, 95% of which rely on imports. In the country's food and beverage market,
the use of Almonds raw materials is developing rapidly, and the snacks, baking
and dairy industries have become powerful engines to further promote its
application growth. In the past few years, the number of new Almonds products
launched in the Chinese market has increased significantly, with a compound
annual growth rate of 8.3%, well above the global growth level of 6.4%.
