It is now the mature season for macadamia nuts. In the “Guomanshanpo”-modern characteristic agricultural demonstration areas of macadamia nuts in Changping Township, Fusui County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, the 5000 mu macadamia nut trees are one forest after another. The green, bright and full fruit branches hang high, showing the signal of a bumper harvest.

In 1974, the Guangxi Subtropical Crops Research Institute introduced macadamia nuts to Guangxi for the first time. The warm climate, sufficient sunshine and rainfall provided unique growth conditions for macadamia nuts. Since then, macadamia nuts have flourished on the land of Bagui. By the end of 2021, the planning area of macadamia nuts in Guangxi had exceeded 0.65 million mu, ranking second in the country. Macadamia nuts have become a characteristic economic forest crop in Guangxi, driving the farmers of Bagui to become rich and increase their income.
