Wuyuan County enjoys favorable planting conditions for sunflower seeds, with an annual planting area accounting for more than 10% of the country, an output accounting for about 14% of the country, and trading volume accounting for about 16% of the country. In 2015, Wuyuan County cooperated with Sanrui Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. to establish the Sunflower Academy of Sunflower Science of Sanrui Agricultural Science. Up to now, the Sunflower Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Sanrui has obtained 17 patents for invention and appearance design, 9 varieties of authorization, and more than 5600 sunflower germplasm resource banks have been built. On this basis, Wuyuan County has also cultivated 13 breeding R&D and distribution enterprises, and has also established 3 agricultural means trading markets, opening up a platform for sunflower seeds to connect with domestic and international markets. With the help of the China Europe train passing through Bayannur, Wuyuan County, sunflower seeds have taken the "the Belt and Road" express, and have exported more than 1150 tons.
