On June 29, the 2024 Boao Global Cashew Industry Development Conference was held in Boao. This conference aims to enhance the deep cooperation and development of the global cashew industry chain and inject new impetus into the prosperity and development of the global cashew industry.


At the beginning of the event, Huang Yimin, Standing Committee of Qionghai Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, introduced the investment resources of Qionghai and said that the business environment will be further optimized to promote the high-quality development of cashew industry. Zhang Wenwei, a second-level researcher at the Industrial Development Department of Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, hopes to jointly promote the innovative development of the cashew industry through this conference and bring better products and services to consumers around the world.

In the theme sharing session, Qin Zhenkui, former director of the Import and Export Food Bureau of AQSIQ, former Party secretary and president of the China Academy of Inspection and Quarantine Science, and general consultant of Wanjia (Hainan) Cashew Industry Development Co., Ltd. deeply discussed the necessity of the construction of group standards for cashew industry in China, emphasizing the key role of standards in promoting the high-quality development of cashew industry. Zhu Fengtao, chief expert of Jinan Fruit Research Institute of All China Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, shared his insights on cashew pear processing and market prospects, providing new ideas for the diversified development of cashew industry. Zhang Zhongrun, professor of the Tropical Crop Variety Resources Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, introduced in detail the development of the cashew industry, the value of the industrial chain and the key content of cashew seed and seedling resources and cultivation technology, providing scientific guidance for the sustainable development of the industry.

Liu Liang, General Manager of the Market Development Department of Hainan International Carbon Emission Trading Center, introduced the development of the national green low-carbon policy and carbon footprint management system, which provided policy guidance for the green development of the cashew industry. Subsequently, the participants held a roundtable dialogue on the theme of "Green finance enables the development of cashew industry chain", and jointly discussed the application and prospect of green finance in the development of cashew industry.

At the site of the conference, the annual global high-quality origin cashew nut procurement signing ceremony was also held. The signing ceremony for the standard formulation of the cashew nut industry chain was held simultaneously, covering many fields such as cashew kernel, kernel oil, shell oil, cashew pear products, etc., marking a solid step in the standardization and high-quality development of the global cashew nut industry.

As the birthplace of cashew nuts in China's history, Hainan Province once had nearly 200,000 mu of cashew nut planting area, and the output reached the seventh in the world during the peak period. In order to inject new momentum into the development of Hainan cashew nut industry, the cashew nut Professional Committee of Hainan Agricultural Product Processing Enterprises Association was inaugurated, which effectively promoted the standardization, branding and international development of Hainan cashew nut industry.

In the next step, the conference will rely on the demonstration effect of Hainan Free Trade Port to help export the standards and processing systems of China's modern industrial parks to major cashew producing areas in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America, provide full-process financial services and undercover acquisition, and help cashew producing areas achieve standardization and scale management. Finally, we will promote the establishment of a healthy agricultural industrial base cluster that integrates the global whole industry chain cooperation such as finance, logistics, planting and processing, logistics, and product sales.
