The General Office of the State Council has recently issued the Opinions on Practicing the Big Food Concept and Building a Diversified Food Supply System, proposing to “actively develop economic forests and understorey economy, and steadily develop forest food resources”, with oil tea, olive oil, almonds, walnuts, chestnuts, jujubes, bamboo shoots, forest medicines, forest fungi, forest vegetables, understorey berries, forest poultry and forest animals, Forest bees and a number of forest food was written in the “views”, which means that the forestry and grassland sector will be in the construction of diversified food supply system to assume a more important responsibility to the forest to food is promising.
From the recently held State Forestry and Grassland Administration forest economy industry development press conference was informed that in recent years, the forestry and grassland sector in-depth practice of the concept of big food, and continue to promote the forest “four library” construction, vigorously develop forest food, forest economy, and constantly enhance the ability to supply forest food.
Forest food development has achieved stage-by-stage results
Mr. Wang Junzhong, Director of the Reform and Development Department of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration (SFGA), introduced that forests are a reservoir of water, food, money and carbon. There are hundreds of tree species with food production function in China, and the forest is a huge “food bank”. The development of forest food does not compete with food for land, does not compete with agriculture for land, has ecological, economic and social benefits, and is an important measure to build a diversified food supply system and guarantee national food security. In recent years, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has been practicing the concept of “big food”, taking the development of economic forests and the under-forest economy as the main hand, and accelerating the expansion of forest food production to increase its quantity and improve its quality.
Stage-by-stage results have been achieved in the development of forest food. Production capacity has continued to increase. The national economic forest plantation area is 700 million mu, and the area of forest land utilized for under-forest economy is more than 600 million mu. The annual output of various types of forest food is more than 200 million tons, 140 kilograms per capita, which has become the third largest agricultural product after grain and vegetables, making China's rice bowl more stable and providing a solid foundation for China's food security.
The variety of products has become richer. Forest food covers “rice bag”, “oil bottle”, “vegetable basket” and “fruit plate”. The supply of woody oil is diversified, with an annual output of more than 800,000 tons of tea oil, as well as a variety of woody edible oils such as olive oil, walnut oil and peony seed oil. Woody food supply is sufficient, with a planting area of about 100 million mu of chestnuts, jujube, persimmons, pine nuts, and apricots for kernels, and an output of 14 million tons. There is a wide variety of fruits, with a planting area of 200 million mu and an output of about 190 million tons. The development of new products such as forest specialty foods, woody seasonings and woody beverages is on the rise. Forest plantations provide about 4.9 billion forest poultry, more than 50 million forest animals, as well as a large number of high-quality green foods such as forest food, forest fungus, forest fruit and honey, which have greatly enriched the people's dinner table.
The effect of industrial enrichment is increasingly visible. The development of forest food can not only enlarge the forest “food bank” but also enrich the forest “money bank”, which is an important initiative to promote the transformation of “two mountains” and realize the comprehensive revitalization of the countryside. More than 2,800 county-level administrative regions in the country, of which more than 2,400 planted economic forests, economic forests annual output value of more than 2 trillion yuan, under-forest economy annual output value of about 1 trillion yuan, driving tens of millions of forest farmers to increase their income and become rich. Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region vigorously develops the under-forest economy, benefiting nearly 12 million forest farmers and driving them to increase their annual per capita income by more than 3,600 yuan.
Vast forests harbor rich food resources
China's vast forests are rich in food resources and are natural granaries and oil depots. Forest food, with its healthy, natural and diversified advantages, is constantly enriching people's “rice bags”, “oil bottles”, “vegetable baskets” and “fruit plates”. ”, woody food and oil development potential?
Wang Junzhong with a set of data to illustrate the development of woody grain and oil and other economic forests. First, the oil tea, walnut, olive and other mainly woody oil forest, an area of 180 million mu, oil production of 9.68 million tons. Among them, the area of oil tea has reached 73 million mu, and the output of oil tea seeds has reached more than 3.3 million tons. Walnut area of more than 100 million mu, output of 5.86 million tons. Secondly, with chestnut, jujube, pine nuts, kernel with apricot and other dry fruit area of more than 100 million mu, output of 14 million tons. Among them, chestnut planting area of more than 27 million mu, output of 2.58 million tons, date planting area of more than 13 million mu, output of 6.48 million tons. Third, apples, pears, citrus and other types of fruit planted area of nearly 200 million mu, output of 190 million tons. Fourthly, emerging food is emerging, bamboo shoots, toon and other forest food planting area of about 70 million mu, output of more than 12 million tons. Tea, coffee and other woody beverages planted area of about 52 million mu, output of 3.5 million tons. Pepper, anise, cinnamon and other woody seasonings planted area of about 32 million mu, output of 1.9 million tons.
