Kenya: proposed to formulate a number of food standards

On May 31,2022, Kenya Bureau of Standards published four draft food standards on its website. Specifically, they are the drafts of the Peanut Butter -Specification (Deas60:2022), Edible Cottonseed Oil-Specification (Deas298:2022),Raw, roasted and fried groundnuts kernels -Specification (Deas888:2022) and Groundnut kernels for oil extraction — Specification (Deas889:2022), which mainly include product definition and classification, raw and auxiliary material use requirements, sensory and quality requirements, health standards, packaging and label regulations, sampling and testing methods and items. The collection period for comments on the above standard draft is July 22, 2022.
