Sunflower oil increases in price in Kazakhstan by almost 20% in year
According to Еnergyprom.kz, Kazakhstan produced 197.3 thousand tonnes of sunflower oil from January to may 2022, an increase of 29.6% year-on-year. The output of unrefined sunflower oil increased by 61.3% year-on-year, and the output of refined sunflower oil decreased by 6.9% year-on-year.
Among them,78% of unrefined sunflower seed oil is produced in Shyghys Qazaqstan, and 78% of refined sunflower seed oil is produced in Shyghys Qazaqstan (28.7 thousand tonnes) and Shymkent city (22.6 thousand tonnes).
The Ministry of agriculture of Kazakhstan restricts the export of sunflower oil until August 31, which will stabilize the price of the product and prevent shortages. From June to July, the production quota of sunflower seed oil was set at 68 thousand tonnes.
From February to April 2022, domestic producers in Kazakhstan met 83.5% of the domestic market demand for sunflower oil, and the output increased by 16.9% year-on-year. During the reporting period, the output of sunflower oil was 149.1 thousand tonnes, of which 66.3 thousand tonnes were used for export, with a year-on-year increase of 71.3%.
