According to the document of Mozambique national cashew and Oil Research Institute, the cashew subsector grew by 14% compared to the previous year and producer families had a global income of US$89 million, making the almond subsector in the agriculture GDP stand at around 23 %.
At present, the annual turnover of the cashew industry is about US $220million, and it is expected to reach about US $500million by 2030. The trading volume is nearly 150000 tons, and the export volume is 111.6 million US dollars. In the past ten years, cashew production in Mozambique has increased by 9% nationwide. So far, there are 10 cashew processing plants in Mozambique.
