On June 8, Vietnam's "Industry and Trade News" reported that according to the statistics of Vietnam's General Administration of customs, the export of cashew from Vietnam in May was 55000 tons, worth US $330million, with a month-on-month increase of 13% and 13.7% respectively, and a year-on-year increase of 3.2% and 0.8% respectively.
Although the import volume of cashew in the Chinese market has increased by 42.5% year-on-year since this year, affected by the substantial increase in the export of cashew from Myanmar to China, the export volume of cashew from Vietnam in the first five months reached only 208000 tons, valued at $1.24 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2% and 2.9% respectively, and its market share in the Chinese market has decreased from 96.52% in 2021 to 82.16% this year
