Vietnam should make full use of its existing advantages to increase cashew nut exports to France

France is Vietnam's largest cashew nut import market in the European Union. However, in order to make Vietnamese cashew nuts stand firmly in the market, many enterprises have received greater support from functional departments to effectively take advantage of the advantages of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).


Since the entry into force of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the export tax rate of cashew products from Vietnam in Europe has been reduced from 7% ~ 12% to 0. This reduction is of great significance and helps to enhance the competitive advantage of cashew nuts in Vietnam.


Dang Hoang Giang, Secretary General of the the Vietnam Cashew Association, suggested that the Ministry of industry and trade take multiple measures to implement cooperation agreements through free trade agreements such as EVFTA, so as to create trade facilitation for enterprises. At the same time, it is suggested that trade promotion agencies provide more information on consumption trends and other relevant information in the French and EU markets; Assist Vietnam Cashew Association to strengthen trade promotion with EU importers.
