According to the General Department of Customs, in May 2022, Vietnam's cashew exports were estimated at 55,000 tons, worth 330 million USD, up 13% in volume compared to April 2022. ; Up 3.2% in volume and 0.8% in value compared to May 2021.
However, in the first 5 months of 2022, Vietnam's cashew nut exports decreased by 3.2% in terms of volume. Volume and 2.9% in value over the same period in 2021.
In May 2022, the average export price of cashew nuts was estimated at USD 6,000/ton, up 0.6% compared to April 2022, but down 2.3% compared to May 2021. Overall, in the first 5 months of 2022, the average export price of Vietnam's cashew nuts increased by 0.3% year on year.
Nowadays, one of the biggest difficulties of the cashew nut industry in Vietnam is the fierce competition with competitors, mainly from Cambodia and Myanmar.
