World sunflower seed production in 2022/23 is forecast at 53.4 million tons, despite downward revisions in EU production, offset by upward revisions in Russia and Ukraine.

At present, Türkiye has become a major trade center for sunflower seeds and products. Due to the increase in Türkiye's domestic processing and import of sunflower seeds, the export volume of sunflower seed oil from May to July this year increased by 43% YOY.
