The South African Official Crop Estimation Committee (CEC) has stated that it is expected that South Africa's corn production in 2022/23 will increase by 5.7% compared to the previous year in terms of summer crop yield expectations. In 2023, South Africa's corn production reached approximately 16.35 million tons, which was higher than the previous year's 15.47 million tons. This included 8.64 million tons of white corn, primarily used for human consumption, and 7.72 million tons of yellow corn, mainly used for animal feed.
