Chile revises quarantine import requirements for peanut plants with and without shells

On June 14, 2023, the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture issued Resolution No. 3571, which amended the quarantine import requirements for peanut plants, both with and without shells. This resolution shall take effect from the date of its publication in the official gazette. Main content:


1. It is stipulated that the quarantine certificate for imported peanut plants should indicate the pre-export quarantine treatment method, including information such as treatment agents, time, temperature, etc.


2. Additional statement on the export peanut plant quarantine certificate: According to the International Plant Quarantine Measures Standard No. 8, the criteria for determining the pest status in a region is that there should be no quarantine pests in the country of origin. In order to demonstrate the importance of maintaining records of epidemic and pest occurrences during the cultivation period of exported peanuts;
