The Russian Agricultural Export Center informed the satellite news agency that China is projected to have the highest demand for plant milk in 2022.

Plant milk is popular in many countries, including soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, and rice milk. In 2022, the global demand for plant milk is projected to increase by 3.7% to reach 10.2 million tons. Among the various types of plant milk, soybean milk is expected to account for 37.8% of the total demand, followed by almond milk at 20% and oat milk at 12%.

According to the news, China's demand for plant milk in 2022 is projected to reach 3.7 million tons, representing 36.4% of the global plant milk market. The demand value is expected to account for 32.1%. The United States ranks second in the demand for plant milk, and Japan ranks third.

China ranked first in the import volume of plant milk in 2022, amounting to US $540.2 million (which accounted for 20.7% of the world's import volume). In the past five years, the annual growth rate of China's plant milk imports has been 14%.

In addition, China also ranks third among the world's plant milk exporters, after the United States and Italy. It is reported that the growing popularity of plant milk worldwide is attributed to several factors, including the promotion of vegetarianism, the focus on health and environmental awareness, the rising number of lactose intolerant individuals, and the rapid introduction of new products.
