On August 9, 2023, the Uganda Standards Authority formulated the standard for pre-packaged cooked beans, and the feedback period was held until October 8, 2023.

The main content includes: product terms and definitions, general requirements (such as no insect fungi, no hard beans with filling beans, beans must be cooked thoroughly; tomato sauce, cheese, edible oil, etc. can be added as ingredients), specific quality indicators, hygiene standards, and heavy metal standards (refer to the table below for some examples), packaging and labeling regulations (including the words "for human consumption", allergen declaration, and labeling of genetically modified materials such as "genetically modified"), sampling and testing methods and items, etc.
