On August 6, 2023, the New Light of Myanmar reported that, according to the Myanmar Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar exported over 550,000 tons of beans and earned over 430 million US dollars in foreign exchange in the first four months of the 2023-2024 fiscal year (April to July 2023). Among them, 462,900 tons were transported by sea, with a trade volume of 362 million US dollars. Additionally, 88,900 tons of beans were traded at the border, with a trade volume of 77 million US dollars. According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce, Myanmar's soybean exports exceeded 1.9 million tons and the trade volume exceeded 1.4 billion US dollars during the fiscal year 2022-2023.
