The recently released the "Chilean Nut Annual Report" by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that due to strong demand for walnuts in the international market,Chilean walnut planting area continues to grow. It is expected that Chilean walnut production will increase by 3.1% in the 2023/24 season, reaching 198,000 tons. The export volume is projected to reach 195,500 tons (calculated with shells), representing a 2.9% increase compared to the 2022/23 season. The production forecast for Chilean almond this season is 11,400 tons, which represents an increase of 0.88% compared to the 2022/23 season. The expected export volume is 8,300 tons, showing a year-on-year increase of 0.60%.
