The General Administration of Food and Control of Turkey released a consultation document on February 22, 2024, aiming to revise the MRL regulations and inviting the public to provide valuable comments before March 22, 2024. The main content of this revision is as follows:
Firstly, detailed adjustments have been made to the maximum residue limits of some agricultural and veterinary drugs, such as 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene. For agricultural and veterinary drugs that have not established a minimum detection limit, this revision will uniformly set their maximum residue limit to 0.01 mg/kg (where '' indicates that the maximum residue limit has approached or reached the limit of analytical quantification). The specific revision content is detailed in the table below.
Secondly, in order to ensure the smooth transition of the market, the General Administration of Food and Control of Turkey also plans to set up a three-month transition period. This means that food produced according to the original regulations can still be sold within its shelf life until the official release of the regulation.
