According to Türkiye's Turkish Agri News, Dursun Oguz G ü rsoy, president of the Council of the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters' Association (KFMIB), said that Türkiye's hazelnut production season of 2023/24 (from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024) had ended. During this period, Türkiye's hazelnuts were sold to 130 countries around the world, with a total export volume of about 303000 tons and an export volume of 2.035 billion US dollars, an increase of 30.86% compared with the 2022/23 quarter. The 2024/25 season has started on September 1st, and the association's export target for the 2024/25 season is over 300000 tons of hazelnuts.

G ü rsoy said that the quality of Türkiye's hazelnut and Türkiye's exporters have been widely recognized around the world. Other hazelnut producing countries have low output and some have poor quality. These recent negative events have benefited Türkiye.

According to Türkiye's Anadolu News Agency, data from Türkiye's Exporters' Conference (TIM) held in August showed that Türkiye's exports to China increased by 11.6% year on year from January to July this year, reaching US $1.8 billion. Among the five categories of products with the highest export volume from Türkiye to China, hazelnut and hazelnut products ranked fifth, with an export volume of 51.5 million US dollars.

The main suppliers of hazelnuts imported from China are Türkiye and the United States, of which Türkiye mainly supplies shelled hazelnuts, while the United States supplies shelled hazelnuts. The market shares of the two countries have changed dramatically in the past three years, and the import of hazelnut from China is turning to Türkiye.
