Senegal's Prime Minister Sonko announces peanut pricing at 305 CFA francs per kilo

Senegalese Prime Minister Sonko announced at an inter-ministerial meeting for the 2024-2025 agricultural marketing year that his government has set the peanut price for the current marketing year at 305 West African francs (CFAF) per kilogram, an increase of 25 CFAF per kilogram over the previous marketing year and higher than the recommendation of the National Peanut Industry Council (CNIP) of 290 CFAF per kilogram. Sonko said the government plans to set the peanut price at 500 CFA francs per kilogram in the coming years.
