Sunflower Seed Production for Argentina Adjusted Down to 2.7 Million Tons in 2014

   According to the report released by the Agricultural Counselor of U.S. Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), the sunflower seed production for Argentina is estimated at 2.7 million tons in 2014, down from an earlier forecast of 3.1 million tons.
   
   As a comparison, the actual production of last year was 3.1 million tons.
   
   The Counselor estimates that in 2014/15 production year, Argentina sunflower seed export is at 75,000 tons, in line with earlier forecasts. The last year was 80,000 tons. Its sunflower seed processing capacity is expected to be 2.8 million tons, compared to the previous forecast of 3 million tons. The last year was 3 million tons.
   
   The ending stock of Argentina sunflower seeds is estimated at 172,000 tons in 2014/15 production year, compared with an earlier forecast of 51,000 tons. The last year was 23,000 tons.
