Japan Revises Inspection and Monitoring Plan (2013) of Imported Food

On November 29, 2013, MHLW released Food Safety Notification 1129 No. 1, as a response to the detection of excessive radioactive materials in Serbia frozen blueberries, in compliance with the inspection and monitoring results of imported food, MHLW has decided to revise the monitoring list for the products with the possibility of containing radioactive materials, adding in the original list the following items including berries and berry products (concentrated products, jams, pastes, syrups, fruit juices, etc.), spices, wild plants and processed products and honey.
