According to the news of European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), on January 14, EFSA published its opinions on revising the maximum residue limit of metaldehyde in legume vegetables and beans.
It is known that, pursuant to Chapter 6 of EC No. 396/2005 Regulation, Austria receives the application from a company for revising the maximum residue limit of metaldehyde in certain legume vegetables and beans. To coordinate the maximum residue limit of metaldehyde, Austria suggests EU revise the MRL.
Pursuant to Chapter 6 of EC No. 396/2005 Regulation, Austria drafted a evaluation report, and submitted to European Commission, and later forwarded to EFSA.
After reviewing the evaluation report, the EFSA proposed the revisions as follows:
