According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), FDA released the Draft Guidance on Prior Notice of Imported Food Questions and Answers (Third Version) on March 28, and sought for opinions since March 31, 2014, for 60 days.

The Draft Guidance answers the questions received since May 2004, when the second edition of the guidance was released, and contains the relevant information regarding submitting prior notice of imported food, a requirement under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), to FDA.
