According to European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Food Safety Authority

gave their scientific opinions on the safety assessment of active substance iron dust, activated carbon, calcined kaolin, common salt, cross linked sodium polyacrylate and calcium chloride to be used as food contact material on May 7, 2014.

After discussions, the expert team came to the conclusion that the use of active system will not threaten human health.
