According to European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Food Safety Authority expressed scientific opinions on safety assessment for PET Recovery Process Phoenix – ESPS at the request of European Commission on May 6.

Phoenix – ESPS Process can be used for recovering PET powder, then for producing PET food contact materials and products which are used for direct contacts and food at room temperature regardless of hot filling.

Expert team concluded that PET from the recovery process which is used for food contact material in production will not cause safety problems.
