Brown HT Exposure Assessment Perfected by EFSA

On May 28, the European Food Safety Authority perfected the exposure assessment of Brown HT, a food coloring.

The EU expert group assessed it by three methods, respectively maximum allowable value exposure assessment, maximum allowable value combining maximum dosage assessment, and the maximum dosage assessment. 

Compared with former assessment, this exposure assessment (for children and adults) is conducted in the same order of magnitude, while the high level exposure assessment is low (especially for adults).

From the Brown HT use level reported, the average exposure assessment and high level exposure assessment are lower than the ADI value of all crowds.
