The president of Scanwel company of Bulgaria, said that the sunflower seed output of Bulgaria in 2013/14 will reduce to 1.73 million tons, a reduction of 5.5% over the previous year’s 1.83 million tons.

He expressed that the seeded area of sunflower seeds in Bulgaria in 2013/14 is estimated as 751000 hectares, compared to the 780750 hectares in the previous year. He also added that the reduction of the sunflower output in this year will lead to the reduction of the export. In 2013/14, Bulgaria exported 690,000 tons of sunflower seeds compared to the 1.02 million tons of the previous year.
