The Guinea Bissau news agency reported on July 14 that recently Enrique Mendez, the General Director of the National Cashew, said according to the Bureau statistical data, till July 8th this year cashew exports of Guinea Bissau in 2014 amounted to 58,000 tons.
Mendes said that due to the limited throughput capacity of the
Mendes predicts that the national cashew export for this year will be about 13 to 14 tons, because there is 80,000 to 90,000 tons of cashew stored in the warehouse waiting to be exported, basically unchanged from last year's 133,000 tons. He said this year's sales prices of cashew is relatively stable, the average purchase price per kilogram of cashew being 250-330 CFA francs.
