The EU will officially propose a motion on July 1st to cancel the " best before date" logo of some food .
The above proposal is based on recommendations proposed by countries such as the Netherlands and Sweden. In many EU countries, a variety of food sold in the supermarket are labeled the “best before date”tab, which always mislead consumers to mistaking think that after the best before date the food will no longer be edible, resulting in a lot of waste.
It is known that , from June 3rd Japan will change the identification method of the " tasting term " for food which have more than one year shelf life, including packaged beverage bottles, spices, etc. The label was changed from the original making" date, month, year" to only mark " month and year". This is also carried out for the sake of reducing food waste, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
