High Cashew Nut Export Tax Complained by Guinea-Bissau Exporters

According to communication agency of Guinea-Bissau, on Aug. 26, Flamengo, the Vice Chairman of Import and Export Trade Association, said that the bottleneck for cashew nut export trade in this year is till the high export tax. The cashew nut exporters complain that the government also collects agricultural product industrialization fund tax. At present, various taxes about 200 USD shall be paid for export of 1 ton cashew nuts.

Flamengo emphasized that the higher export tax reduces the profits of exporters, leading to illegal outflow of nearly 70,000 ton cashew nuts to neighbor countries.
