Oil World, the Hamburg-based trade journal showed in Sept. 2 that the output of sunflower seeds in EU may be higher than the earlier prediction due to abundant rainfall and warm weather.   
        Oil World said in a report that in 2014/2015 from August, the sunflower seed output in EU will be about 8.55 million ton, 300,000 ton higher than earlier prediction, which is the second place historically. The sunflower seed output in the previous year touched the first place, about 8.9 million ton.
       Oil World said the prospect is improved, especially in Hungary and Romania. 
        The trade journal said that in July and first half of August, the rainfall in Europe is abundant, creating near ideal growth environment for summer crops, and improving the prospect of per unit yield.
         It also said that in 2014/2015 the sunflower seed squeezing quantity is totally 7.33 million ton, lower than the high record of 7.61 million ton in the previous year. The export will fall from 710,000 ton to 700,000 ton.
