APEC High-level Regulator Industry Dialogue on Food Safety themed as “Establishing Future-oriented APEC Food Safety Partnership” was held in Beijing a few days ago. This is the first food safety dialogue co-organized by governments and enterprises with the integration of the wisdom of all circles in APEC area. It is aimed to further enhance the communication and interaction between governments and enterprises on food safety in APEC region.

While we are happy for the increasingly prosperous economy in APEC region, we feel the pressure on the new problems and new challenges faced by the food safety in APEC region, said by Wu Qinghai, the Deputy Director of AQSIQ. In order to cope with the challenges brought by the internationalization of food industry chain, APEC region’s food safety regulatory departments should continue to enhance their cooperation. And meanwhile, the communication and dialogue between governments and enterprises should be strengthened to jointly promote food safety and to guarantee the supply of safe food.
