U.S. Food Safety News Website said on October 17, 2014 that nine organizations including the Natural Resources Defense Council and Breast Cancer Foundation jointly launched a petition to FDA and demanded a ban on some chemicals harmful to health in food packaging.

These chemicals include perchlorate and long chain perfluorocarbon.
