The European PHBOTTLE R&D Team comprises of scientific and technical personnel from 5 EU member countries, of which are Spain (general coordinator), Netherlands, Bulgaria, Belgium and Portugal, and 4 Latin American countries, of which are Mexico, Honduras, Brazil and Argentina. What’s more, the 7^th Framework Programme (FP7) of EU has offered € 3 million and the total R&D investment is € 4.20 million. Ever since the March of 2012, they have devoted themselves to the research and development of extraction technology and production technology of available organics in the wastes and waste water of fruit juice beverage processing industry.

The packaging material industry for food and beverage in EU is one of the most obvious industries that wasting energy and resources. Every year the production demand of packaging material has achieved 67 million ton, wherein the vast majority of packaging material constitutes a serious threat to ecological environment.
