As reported by German media,the new draft standard stipulates that:
1. Farms may simultaneously produce organic food and conventional agricultural products at present, but European Union will release ban on this situation to avoid fakes and pollution;
2. The organic food in EU is not guaranteed to be free from residual insecticide at present; in the future, however, the manufacturer shall guarantee that the insecticide residual in their organic food is not higher than that in the infant food;
3. 20% of the fodder for chicken, pig, etc. of a farm shall come from peripheral pasture at present; in the future, this percentage shall raise to 60%; moreover, the protein in fodder shall be made organically.
Dacian Ciolo, the agricultural commissioner of European Commission, said that current standard causes that the products labeled by EU Organic Certificate are not 100% made of organic ingredients, therefore a stricter standard is under planning.
