As reported by Paris Branch, Xinhua News Agency in January 2, since the enforcement of a new law, all the food packages containing bisphenol a (bpa) and directly contacting food will quit from French consumers’ view gradually, to avoid potential harm for human health.
Bisphenol a is a chemical widely used in plastic manufacturing. The plastic containers for food and beverage commonly seen in our daily lives, such as the hard and transparent plastic bottles, have such substance. Agency for Food Safety of France released a research report in April, 2013 indicating that bisphenol a has potential health hazard, and 80% of approaches that we may contact bisphenol a are related to food. This report also indicated that bisphenol a can cause structural changes of mammary gland of fetus in during pregnancy, which will increase the odds of suffering cancers.
