On February 24, Korea KFDA issued the food and drug safety announcement 2015-5 to partially revise the Food Additive Specification Benchmark. The main revision content is as follows:
1. 3-acetyl-2,5-dimethylthiophene with potential safety hazard is removed from the additive.
2. The mercury item (below 3.ppm) is added in the ferrous fumarate, caramel colorant and yeast extract purity experiment; further make clear definitions of the caramel colorant, yeast, magnesium silicate and starch.
3. It specifies consumption of the sodium metabisulfite (sodium metabisulfite, potassium metabisulfite, anhydrous sulfurous acid, acid sodium sulfite, sodium sulfite and sodium dithionite) (0.20 g/kg) to dry coconut.
4. The beverage is added in the hydrogen use object.
5. It revises the specification benchmark of sterilization disinfectant for instruments, which specifies that the applicable instrument sterilization disinfectant must contain active ingredients with sterilization effect and conform to composition specification benchmark of each variety.
