Recently, Monitoring and Safety Division, Food Safety Department of Drug and Food Bureau of MHLW released SASF 0113 No. 1 to revise the intensive monitoring inspection item in Attached Table 7 and Attached Table 8 of Imported Food Monitoring Plan. The product with Timicosin intensive monitoring inspection is revised to “chicken” from “aquatic product”; the product with oxytetracycline intensive monitoring inspection is expended to “vegetables, grain, beans and nut seeds” from “vegetables”.

It can be seen that in this plan revision, Japan expanded the scope of imported products with oxytetracycline intensive monitoring inspection. Therefore, relevant export enterprises are reminded to firstly strengthen the study on the monitoring guidance plan, actively communicate with customers to know the detailed requirements of monitoring inspection, adjust self-inspection and self-control plan properly and guarantee the exported products comply with requirements of Japanese side.
