According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), recently the FDA announced recall notification that several batches of nuts with salmonella will be recalled. The products subject to recall are pine nuts of "Superior Nut & Candy Co., Inc.", walnuts of “Hines Nut Company” and macadamia nuts of Whole Foods Market.

After people are infected with salmonella, they will have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and even have arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain and other symptoms when it is severe. The US FDA is working with business for investigation into contamination reasons. The US FDA recommends that consumers shall not eat the above products in question, but return the products for a refund.
