According to the United States FDA news, on June 18th, the
United States FDA released the final guidance documents, to help food
manufacturers to apply for allergen exemption logo.
According to the food
allergen labeling and consumer protection law in 2004, products containing
major food allergen (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, nuts, wheat, peanut, and
soybean) should be clearly marked on the label. However, when food manufacturers
further process food allergens, they will not constitute a threat to allergic
people, so that allergic people will have more choices.
According to the
provisions, in the hope that exemption from the components of a particular
allergen labeling, producers are required to submit: a provide scientific
information on the petition for that containing the main allergen product does
not cause allergic reactions, no health threat; a notice that provided
scientific information, to prove the material does not contain protein allergy.
