At present, Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) has formally issued “Special Method for Imported Food Safety Management” and “Positive List System for Pesticide” and shall be formally implemented in February 2016 and December 2015 respectively.

The above two new regulations have formulated strict access conditions and port inspection and quarantine standards for imported food, food additives and food contact materials and agricultural products such as imported animal by-products and animals and plants, which can be called as the most strictest laws for food and agricultural products in the history of South Korea. It has reflected that South Korea has taken advantage of technical measures to trade to get rid of impacts of relevant products and industries, which may cause potential influences on industries that sell food and agricultural products to South Korea.
