From 11 to 13 August 2015, the 7th International Macadamia Symposium took place at Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, South Africa hoisted by the Southern African Macadamia Grower’s Association (SAMAC). The macadamia suppliers from South Africa and Australia, as well as traders and processors from all over the world participated in the symposium.

The symposium covered problems such as marketing, long-term strategy, farm management, new product development, harvest procedure and insect pest management involving development of macadamia. Particularly, in marketing, the symposium mainly introduced development of macadamia in China, and discussed the development strategies of macadamia industry in next 5-10 years.

In addition, the macadamia producers in South Africa and Australia will further centralize resources and expand cooperation in the future to make sure the control position of South Africa and Australia for global market in this industry.
