The first supporting regulation - Current Good Manufacturing Practice and Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Control of Food (hereinafter referred to as new regulation or regulation 117) of the USA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) officially came into effect on September 11. The regulation requires that production, processing, packaging and storage enterprises of all food sold in USA shall satisfy requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and present new characteristics.
