On September 2, 2015, Nigeria released G/SPS/N/NGA/1, G/SPS/N/NGA/2 and G/SPS/N/NGA/4 bulletins, revision draft to the Oil and Fat Regulation (2005), revision draft to the Food Fortification Regulation and draft to the Food Grade (Edible and Table) Salt Regulation (2015).
The draft to the Oil and Fat Regulation specifies that vitamin A in oil and fat shall not exceed 20000IU/kg. The revision draft to the Oil and Fat Regulation (2005) defines the fortified vitamin food declared in the advertisement/label and it specifies the vitamin and mineral logo and packaging requirements in food labels and further improves relevant regulation on ban, penalty and confiscation imposed on offenders.
