According to information from Djakarta on Oct. 27, the
Indonesia, in the latest measures to promote self-sufficient food product,
considers collection 10% soybean import tariff and may formulate new minimum
price of soybeans.
The existing import tariff is zero.
However, due to cheap local price, the officials of Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia
said the Ministry has proposed to collect 10% import tariff to protect local
farmers from being impacted by cheap imported soybeans.
