On Oct. 27, 2015, the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of
Singapore released G/SPS/N/SGP/56
Notification, and 2015 Food Law Amendment Draft. The amendment contents are:
(1) before sticking to “Organic” label to relevant products, the product shall
be inspected and authorized by authorization system, and comply with
requirements of relevant organic product production, processing, label and
marketing; (2) sweetening agent allowed to use in foods according to favorable
production specifications; (3) defining “veterinary drug” and “chance element”;
(4) prohibit importing, marketing and advertising raw material milk directly
consumed by human; (5) allow to use bovine lactoferrin in infant formula, and
set 100mg/100ml as the maximum allowable limit; and (6) allow to use the
specific “modified starch”.
